About The Facility
Still Point Farm, located northeast of Austin, TX, is looking for a summer working student. We are a private training facility with a great group of boarders and a boutique riding academy. We compete at local shows, as well as the A-circuit shows in Texas. We have 14 stalls and two 4- stall run-in sheds for horses that live outside full time.
We take a lot of pride in training our horses comprehensively- so they have everything from great ground manners to great technique on course to truly enjoying their job. We put the horse first in all ways, and we think it pays off for those of us that love them.
Job Description
We are looking for a working student for the summer- someone who is hungry to learn this business, to understand how to care for and manage horses properly, and to be pushed to ride at the best of your ability. Most of all, someone who has a passion for horses.
Job Requirements
Be prepared to:
-wake up early (it’s hot down here and it’s best to get an early start)
-help with daily chores (cleaning/bedding stalls, watering, feeding, etc)
-help keep the barn neat and tidy
-take excellent care of the horses
-groom at shows
-gain a lot of information
-be around awesome people
-have most afternoons off
This position involves more grooming and ground-work than riding, but again you can bring your horse and take full advantage of lessons and training rides. For the right candidate, more opportunities for extra rides may materialize.

NOT required, but bonus points for candidates that have experience with small kids/ openness to helping with trainer’s sweet 3-year-old son from time to time.
Benefits
Weekly Stipend,
Lessons
Board for one horse,
Comfortable Living accommodations
Description of Housing Provided
We have a lovely two-story historical home on the farm. Upstairs is well-separated from downstairs, and you would have a large private room and bathroom as well as your own thermostat. You would also have a private refrigerator.
