About The Facility
Breeding farm specializing in jumpers with a side of hunters. Sires of youngsters include Canturo, Dakota VDL, Contendro I, Candy de Nantuel, Carambole, Balou du Rouet, Canturano I, Gem Twist (via Gemini), Quite Easy, Rotspon, Chilli Willi, and Faustino de Tili.
Facilities include:
Two large outdoor arenas, one with all-weather footing
One outdoor round pen with all-weather footing
One 9-stall barn of boarders with boarder tack room and crossties
One 22-stall private barn with a private tack room and private washrack/crossties

Accommodations include:
1) Brand-new 2 bed 1 bath apartment on-site negotiable.
3) Stall board negotiable.
Job Description
What we are looking for:
A young horse trainer specializing in hunter/jumpers with a strong dressage background that would like to start, train, develop, show and represent for sale a nice crop of young hunter/jumpers for sale. The trainer's focus should be steady progress and an honest representation to sellers rather than a quick flip. The ideal candidate would be able to flex between assisting starting horses and jumping/showing them.

We welcome outside clients for this trainer, and encourage them to attract outside clientele. Arrangements with your own, outside clientele will be independent of the farm and not managed by the farm. Stall board is available for clientele.

For the farm's horses, trainers on the farm will be working in tandem with or underneath our Young Horse Trainer, depending on experience.


Responsibilities will include:
1) Riding and training 4+ year olds after their 60-90 day start
2) Assisting in free jumping days
3) Showing 4, 5, and 6 year olds, including at A shows and the KWPN-NA Keuring IBOP tests
4) Riding horses for sales videos and prospective buyers; describing these horses in an honest but positive manner to potential buyers
5) Marketing and networking of young horses

Average work week will look like:
1) M-F with the exception of days shifted around when a show is coming up or has just happened.
2) Winter hours 11-5 or 12-6. 7-12 or 6-12 in the summers.
3) Groom to tack and ready horses for you
4) Around 6 horses in training at a time.
Job Requirements
Years of experience riding young horses (horses less than 5 years old)
Year of experience starting young horses
Comfortable on young horses (incl riding through a spook or buck)
Steady seat, soft hands: solid base where you don't fall back into the tack, knock the horse with your heels every stride or unintentionally squeeze with your calves to steady your seat, and can keep a soft hand without using the reins to rebalance yourself.
Benefits
Pay would be:
Horses ridden: $100 per horse per 4 days
Horses helped with or handled: $10-40, depending on the work (examples: hold horse for vet, ground help for another rider starting a horse)
Additional pay for shows
Commission on sales
Apartment on-site negotiable, stall board negotiable
