About The Facility
This successful, private, upper level show jumping facility is truly one of a kind. Located 40 minutes North of Houston, this facility is home to 25 horses currently, with a small string of upper level prospects gearing up to hit the AA circuits again in 2023. The Head Trainer in this role has already achieved major success on the top circuits, but is coming off a short hiatus in which she focused more on her breeding program in Europe. She feels it is now time to get back into the show ring, and is looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy individual to be the home farm manager! There are no clients involved in this program, simply the owner, assistant trainer, and other members of the care team on-site. The owners of this facility are heavily involved in giving back to the Equestrian community, and are sponsors of numerous shows and young-horse classes around the A circuits. They run many internship programs for up-and-comers who could be interested in the industry, and have recently added an Assistant Trainer from the UK to their team as well! This group is well run, highly organized, and gearing up to be taking on the international show circuits in 2025. With a lovely group of support staff already in place, and an excited and honest employer who always prioritizes her equine partners, this group is one that will easily feel like home!
Job Description
Looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join this growing program as a Show Groom! With several top horses, and a new Assistant Trainer arriving from the UK in January, this group is setting their sights on some exciting goals for 2023 and beyond. This is a facility which puts a tremendous amount of time and effort into the well-being of the horses, and remains on the cutting edge of alternative/regenerative therapies to keep their horses feeling and performing their best. The individual in this position will be a vital part of ensuring the team's success as they begin getting back into the swing of regular showing!
The vast majority of shows will be local in Katy, TX but they are anticipating also making the trip to Wellington, along with spending a couple weeks at a time at some of the larger Northern circuits. This will not ever be a position that spends the majority of the time on the road, but applicants should be ready and willing to attend out-of-state shows. International shows will be added to the roster within the next 2 years, if all goes to plan!
There will never be more than 8 horses traveling to the shows at a time, with the care split between the assistant trainer and this individual. While the primary responsibility of this individual will be on the care of the competition string, all members of this facility do work as a team. There may be additional tasks required from time-to-time with the retirees and young stock depending on weather and staffing. With the team fully formed, there will be about 4-5 horses per groom at home as well.

This position has been described by current employees as the *ideal* opportunity for someone who someday wants to groom in Europe. This facility upholds the highest standards of care, and will surely prepare any individual joining this team to step confidently into any caliber of program going forward.
