Mandalay Farms is a private 20-acre equestrian farm and animal sanctuary. We have a philanthropic mission to serve at risk youth and individuals with special needs but also operate as a business offering high end luxury animal encounters and experiences based on the promotion of human-animal interaction and assisted therapies. This tranquil environment is also used for several mindfulness and yoga retreats. We are looking for like-minded individuals with a passion for animals and philanthropy.
Hands-on knowledgeable Animal Caretaker to oversee equine barn, grooms and farm animal caretaker and exotic animal keepers on 20-acre private facility. This position requires someone knowledgeable in equines, tacking up English and Western and general ground manners. Ideal candidate is organized, personable, resourceful and able to manage time well with attention to detail. Duties include:
Assisting with opening duties & horse care/turnout
Overseeing additional staff
Receiving deliveries
Assisting with special events and private tours
Managing subcontractors and vendors
Scheduling/Overseeing farrier and veterinary appointments
Training Grooms (handling, horsecare, turnout, wrapping,clipping )
administering wormer or medication as needed
Bathing/Clipping
3-5 years experience managing an equestrian facility, farm or animal sanctuary.
5-7 years experience managing 10+ people in professional setting
Valid drivers license
Ability to drive a gooseneck 4-slant trailer
Legal in US
Physically fit and able to perform all duties require when caring for equines
2 weeks paid vacation
Quarterly performance bonuses
