About The Facility
This is a semi-private, family-owned, 80-acre, 15-stall equestrian facility outside of St Paul. The residents of this facility are mostly retired competition horses, with the exception of 1-2 dressage horses who are actively competing. The farm is currently home to 6 retirees, 3 boarders, and 1-2 dressage horses, with tentative plans to expand the show horse presence in the future. With both indoor and outdoor areas, and plenty of pasture land, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working a tractor and performing basic facility upkeep!
Job Description
Seeking an additional groom to join the team at this beautiful, semi-private dressage facility! Featuring mostly a well-loved group of retirees, and 1-2 high level competition horses, the ideal candidate is well versed in all aspects of equine care, from young horses through seniors. This person should be knowledgeable and comfortable braiding, bandaging, clipping, and administering medications as directed. The ideal candidate will have leadership qualities and the ability to effectively manage their schedule both at home, and at shows/clinics. Ability to drive a 2 and 4 horse trailer and perform basic first aide is necessary for this position.
Job Requirements
- Basic farm chores (stalls, feeding, cleaning, sweeping, laundry, etc)
- Basic grooming responsibilities, including tacking, untacking, and cleaning tack
- Ability to braid (button) clip, bandage
- Confidence administering Oral, IV, and IM medications
- Ability to drive trailers and tractors
- Show grooming, packing, and unpacking trailers
- Assisting with vet and farrier visits as needed
Benefits
Consistent work schedule, 7:30am-4:30pm Tuesday-Saturday (barring shows/clinics)
