About The Facility
Located in Southern Connecticut, this 32 stall competitive H/J facility has an indoor arena, outdoor arena, and a thriving lesson program! This program shows on the A Circuit and is based in CT year round. The head trainer runs a fun and inviting lesson program for all ages and skill levels from beginners through those actively riding and competing on the A circuit.
Job Description
This facility has grown to the point of needing a new Assistant Trainer/Barn Manager to join the team! This person will be primarily teaching beginner-intermediate lessons to start and riding about 3-4 client horses per day. Local showing opportunities will be present for the students and horses in the program, and there is room for the right candidate to grow into coaching on the A circuits as well! There is a consistent group of grooms and barn staff on board, leaving the person in this role to focus primarily on the lesson program and well being of the horses in the facility. This is a 6 day per week position, with Mondays off, and start time each day varies depending on lesson schedule - some days not starting until 9am!
Job Requirements
- Overseeing care of horses and facility
- Assisting Head Trainer as needed
- Teaching beginner/intermediate lessons
- Riding (3-4 daily on average)
- Keeping track of stable supplies
- Assistance with daily chores in event of staffing shortage
- Emergency care procedures when needed
- $750/week
- Full care board for 1 horse
- Lessons with head trainer
