Situated on 100 private acres near Washington DC, this 18 stall barn is home to anywhere from 20-26 top class sporthorses in the discipline of 3 day eventing. With two 5* Event riders as trainers, there is endless opportunity for learning experience in this program. Their head groom has been with them for 2 years, and they have a solid pair of stable workers who have been with the program for a number of years as well. In recent years, this group has stayed year round in Virginia, but beginning this year there may be the opportunity to go to Florida for a few weeks during the winter. This is not a position with high turnover, and it is a welcoming environment to join!
***Newly Included! A prospective working student now has the ability to include a lease situation on one of their former Advanced horses***
This facility is seeking either a motivated working student who wants to bring their own horse, receive lessons and riding opportunities, and learn from two of the best - OR - an assistant barn manager to join their team who needs little training but does not want to be the key decision maker at this point. This is a 6 day per week position. They have a well-run operation, and are needing someone primarily as support for the daily tasks of their head groom. This person should be comfortable and confident asking questions when needed, and should have a genuine desire to care for a variety of horses in a top level program. This could be a position that includes traveling for shows, or could be a stay-at-home role. The majority of the horses in this program are young and fit, so anyone joining this group needs to be very confident in their horsemanship. Riding is available but not required. This position affords a lot of flexibility to accommodate someone's specific needs in the industry. As long as the passion and discipline are there, this could be a very successful long-term arrangement for someone!
