About The Facility
Headwaters is a private, small, thoughtful, and organized operation dedicated to the wellness of top equine athletes. Newly renovated (2021) with horse wellness and sustainable operations in mind. A peaceful oasis for horses and humans alike. We are located on 40 acres in the beautiful PNW 1 hour north of Seattle and 1 hour south of Canada.
Job Description
Seeking a seasoned professional who is ready to bring their expertise to a professional and rewarding environment. This position participates in a rotating feeding/care schedule shared with owner day to day, with the responsibility of managing care and operations when owner is away. Must have strong awareness of self and your surroundings. The candidate must posses min 3 yrs horse care experience with top equine athletes and skills to handle a variety of horse types. Experience preferred in the showjumping or dressage disciplines.

Employment Terms: Longterm and/or flexible to seasonal terms starting with November - March. Must be able to cover 2- 4 weeks at a time during winter circuit. Post training/trial period also open to contract terms for specified dates.

Job Requirements
• Grooming, bathing, wrapping, wound care, administering therapies.
• Feeding, blanketing, turnout.
• Exercising: Lunging, basic groundwork, handwalking etc. Positive reinforcement training (clicker/target) a plus but willing to train motivated candidate.
• Competition turnout (including clipping/plaiting) or drive to grow your skills.
• Assisting vet/farrier/care appts.
• Trailer loading.
• Equine First Aid – IM/IV
• Stall/barn cleaning, laundry and general upkeep of the farm.
• Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.+ and manage large horses.
• Rotating schedule for night check and AM feeding.
• Tractor work (arena drag, water trailer, etc)
