A small, private farm near Tryon, NC is looking for a new member of their tight-knit team! This lovely family farm currently boasts a 6 stall barn where the owner's three forever horses reside. The property is surrounded by miles of wooded trails and has a small creek running through its peaceful hills. They have plans to expand and upgrade the equine facilities to include a covered arena and additional barn in the near future!
This position does NOT offer stabling opportunities for any personal horse(s) - NO exceptions! Personal horses must be on full-care board at an outside facility. Ambitious show and training schedules will not coincide well with this position.
As the current groom enters her 60's, this lovely facility is looking for her replacement. They are seeking someone who can work as barn support staff to the facility's on-site team members. This person will be responsible for cleaning stalls and water buckets, turnout, meticulous grooming of the horses, maintaining cleanliness of the barn. Applicants should be comfortable with walking up and down hills and performing a very physical job. They should have comprehensive understanding of top quality equine care, and be at least loosely comfortable with emergency procedures and driving a trailer. This person needs to be comfortable working in a close knit, and easygoing team. While this is not a position that requires a lot of show-barn-hustle, applicants should enjoy being at the barn all day and be self starters with regards to cleanliness tasks.
