About The Facility
This is a small, private Eventing operation which splits its time between Aiken, SC and Virginia. Beginning shortly after Halloween, the farm in Aiken will be home to 10-12 Event horses ranging in level from young, green horses to FEI competition horses. The owner has won top titles at the top of the sport, and puts her horses at the absolute forefront, always. There are no clients coming in and out of the farm, offering the ability to focus solely on providing exceptional care for the horses and stable. In late April or early May, the operation will relocate back to Virginia, to an equally private and picturesque farm there. There is a knowledgeable barn manager on site splitting the full workload!
Job Description
A Groom who is passionate about the care of horses and learning the Eventing Discipline is needed! This is a year round position, and is best suited for someone with a true passion for the care of quality sporthorses. Hours are roughly 7am to 4:30 or 5:00, 6 days per week. The owner of this facility is fair, and direct. You will never be asked to do something the owner is not willing to do herself, and she is realistic in her expectations. Questions are always welcome, and training will be provided if needed! The horses are treated as family here, and the person who steps into this role should feel comfortable and confident being the main decision maker while the owner is away at shows. This is not an atmosphere where you will be micromanaged or burnt out. This is the ideal position for someone wanting to fully immerse in the Eventing community, and see if it is where they belong before making a discipline specific partner purchase and jumping right in!
