About The Facility
This is a beautiful 22 stall, 22 acre, state of the art Equestrian Center nestled within 1800 acres of the most beautiful country Georgia has to offer. The amenities include air conditioned tack and laundry rooms, a member's lounge, an outdoor poly-fiber arena, and a full jump field. with 24 hour video and live surveillance, and more than 12 miles of bridle trails winding through ancient Oak trees, this facility is truly equestrian paradise.
Job Description
The search has officially begun for the new Equestrian Director at this serene facility. With a healthy mix of English and Western disciplined riders, on-site instructors, and regular clinicians for its members, the person in this role should be well versed in all levels of Equine care. The person in this position will be responsible for maintaining the Equestrian Center from A-Z. With 6 members of support staff and anywhere from 10-30 horses on site at any time, this person should be extremely organized and accustomed to dealing with a very high level of clientele. This person will be responsible for assisting in staffing the stables, planning events and clinics for members, organizing the lesson programs and coordinating fun activities for residents. While there will be support staff and access to exceptional equine care practitioners, this person will be the first line of defense in an emergency, and should be well versed in standard first aid and colic procedures. This person should ensure the barn and surrounding equestrian facilities are immaculately maintained at all times.
Job Requirements
1. Provides advice and professional help to members and guests regarding the horses and riding.
2. Designs and organizes equestrian activities for youths and adults.
3. Coordinates lessons, trail rides and special functions for members and guests.
4. Ensures appropriate measures are taken to in regard to the safety of all riders and horses.
5. Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate supplies of feed and tack for the stables.
6. Is knowledgeable about the horses and assists in the purchasing of additional horses and equipment.
7. Ensures that all equipment is clean and in good condition. Coordinates with Grounds Maintenance, Lodging and Facilities Maintenance to ensure that the stable facility and grounds are clean, well maintained and in good repair at all times.
8. Responsible for health of the animals, including routine veterinary services and handling emergency situations. Facilitates the disposal of horse manure.
9. Ensures that stable staff fully understands the need for, and implements, a daily housekeeping program for the barn.
10. Is actively involved in the maintenance and enhancements of the equestrian trails.
11. Involved in the hiring, training and evaluation of employees. Recommends disciplinary action and promotion/raises as necessary.
12. Responsible for condition of the paddocks, by season and maintenance schedule.
13. Fielding all concerns and suggestions related to activities, programs, and events
