About The Facility
150 acre private, family farm in Dryden, Michican. Facility has 70 acres of woods, a hay field, and a small horse property included. Several residences on the property.
Job Description
Tasks would include but not be limited to mowing, fixing fences, trimming trees, maintaining the woods, power washing buildings, cleaning gutters, servicing the equipment, managing the maintenance staff, and assisting with the harvesting of the hay fields.
This position is located in Michigan year round, and will have seasonal responsibilities (mowing in the summer, snow removal in the winter) Someone able bodied and willing to work in all conditions is a MUST.
This person ideally is well versed in minor repairs of tractor and basic farm equipment. The equipment is a mix of new and old, the newer equipment will be reserved for the daily operations of the Farm Manager. While a general knowledge of all things farm is ideal, this person should be fully capable of and comfortable with hiring workers for larger projects which require specialized skills or can not be handled by one person (i.e. roofing, electrical, plumbing, etc) This person should be capable of getting along well with current staff, and comfortable with the ability to interview and hire new staff members as needed.
The ideal candidate must be organized, punctual, and willing to take direction from both of the facility owners with regards to specific tasks around the farm. As this is a facility which has several horses on it, a basic horse sense would be ideal, but not required.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses a basic working knowledge of all farm equipment, and their operations. This person will be able to work in all weather conditions, and communicate kindly and effectively with both owners and staff members.
40 hour work week, kind and considerate owners
Description of Housing Provided
No housing available on-site, though owners are willing to assist in finding local housing opportunities. Could be flexible with temporary housing for someone relocating.
