About The Facility
8.85-acre horse farm in Wellington, Florida which includes a 28-stall stable; an outdoor arena; a 6-horse euro-walker and round pen; 8 wash stalls; 2 tack rooms; 2 feed rooms; 2 each of laundry rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and storage rooms.
Job Description
The groom is responsible for the care and well-being of all horses, participating in their routine care and maintenance including grooming, medication and treatment of injuries and illnesses, maintaining stalls, pastures, and the security of horses. This position requires high attention to detail and advanced knowledge of horse care, behavior, and handling.
Duties include bathing and brushing each horse, cleaning tack, and providing basic first aid to horses such as bandaging small scrapes and cuts. In addition to grooming tasks, the responsibilities of the horse groom include mucking out each stall, helping with stable maintenance, and preparing or distributing feed.

The candidate must be fluent in English, be a team player, take initiative, and be able to drive a truck and trailer.

• Coordinating with the property manager on horse care unique to each horse
• Cleaning and mucking stalls
• Feeding hay, grain, supplements as needed, and water
• Administer basic first aid, medications, and appropriate bandaging
• Follow veterinary advice on caring for sick or injured horses
• Continually monitor the health and condition of all horses, reporting any injuries to manager
• Cleaning water buckets and ensuring horses have fresh water throughout the day
• Grooming, saddling, unsaddling, and bathing horses
• Handling horses for the veterinarian, farrier, or trainer during medical or other treatments.
• Cleaning all horse equipment; tack cleaning; laundry of horse gear
• Organization of rugs, including washing, repairing, storing, name tagging them to the appropriate horse
• Hand walking/lunging horses
• Turning horses out and bringing them back in
• Maintaining the barn area: sweeping, washing, and general cleaning
• Keeping allocated areas tidy such as the feed room, tack room and storage areas
• Keeping the yard tidy and safe in line with health and safety regulations
• Dragging the arena
• Unloading grain and hay bags
• Loading and unloading horses from trailers
• Trim horse’s coat with clippers (face, legs, ears, entire body)
• Braiding the mane and/or tail for horse shows
• Monitor and maintain the level of feed, hay, and bedding in stock
• Performing night checks of all horses
• General oversight of the barn area, including notifying the manager of needed supplies and any issues requiring attention
• Minor farm maintenance
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a groom at a stable. FEI level experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license

• Year-round; Full-time: 7 am – 4 pm
• Year-round; Part-time: flexible hours to include weekends/holidays as necessary
• Capable of working extended hours to include weekends and holidays as necessary
• Must be dependable and willing to work in all weather conditions
• A positive attitude and good people skills
• Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects throughout the day

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English in a clear and understandable voice; ability to speak Spanish a plus
