Job Description
Assistant barn manager and rider. Feeding, watering, mucking, turnout (in hilly terrain), grooming, blanketing/un-blanketing, barn laundry, tacking/untacking, bathing, hand walking, hand grazing, bandaging, maintain clean barn. Exercise riding for the purpose of the horses’ fitness and happiness during all seasons and weather, is required. Horses are ridden in English tack on the flat.
Job Requirements
Must be looking for long-term employment and truly enjoy the tranquil lifestyle on the private farm. Direct experience managing the care of horses as well as the facility. Must have a cheerful attitude with a genuine passion for working with horses and people; good work ethic; honest; effective and respectful communication skills; knowledge of quality horse care, basic equine first aid/medical treatment, horsemanship and equine behavior; excellent equine handling skills; willingness to learn; flexible; self-motivated who can also follow directions well; working well with others is a must.
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. consistently. Proficiency in driving a horse trailer is very beneficial.
