Small private farm with 14 stalls, multiple turn out paddocks, riding arena, round pen and ride out.
Vista Farms East is seeking an applicant for a full time Assistant position at a private horse farm, focused on training and farm work. Applicant must have a good foundation in horsemanship and be able to confidently work with young and green horses. This position is focused on horse grooming and farm care management.
Horse care duties include, but are not limited to, grooming, tacking, bathing, setting fences, blanketing, clipping, basic first aid care and management of daily equine schedules. Riding is a bonus skill but not required. Turnout and stall cleaning will be needed from time to time but should not be a daily task as that position is currently filled.
General farm work such as mowing, weed eating, arena grooming, fence work, etc. Truck and trailer driving skills are also a bonus.
This is a very hands-on position and requires a very driven work ethic. Ideal candidate will be a self-starter that doesn’t wait to be told what to do and takes ownership in their work.
Applicant should have a valid driver’s license and their own form of transportation.
On site housing and salary based on applicants' skill set and level of ability
