Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Wellington is a full service equine hospital that is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This job involves working with horses of all ages and breeds. The hospital/surgery technicians’ responsibilities include but are not limited to: following clinician’s orders, preparing and administering medications, monitoring patient’s vital signs, monitoring fluids, pulling blood from an intravenous catheter, performing basic lab test, assisting veterinarians as needed, stocking and cleaning as well as general horse care. Technicians will also be responsible for surgery patients, maintain operating room stock and sterilization, maintain sterile and aseptic technique and be familiar with equine surgical instrumentation. This job is physically demanding and requires candidates that are able to frequently lift 50lbs. Teamwork and a positive attitude is a must!
