We are currently seeking an equine rockstar who is interested in managing and working hands-on with a draft horse herd while delivering exceptional guest experiences to tourists and special guests. This position is designed for someone with a solid resume of equine performance, who loves to deal with the public, and who wants to help build something special.
Job Duties:
• Manage and perform all caretaking and training aspects of small draft horse herd
• Provide WoW experiences to tourists and guests as you promote draft horses and farm through tours and special events
• Interact with tourists and guests in a clear, consistent, energetic and positive manner; conduct presentations, answer questions and address guest needs
• Manage other team members who assist with farm and herd responsibilities
• Transport draft horses to and from events and other destinations as needed
• Manage and perform all daily maintenance and cleaning responsibilities of herd, facility and equipment
• Manage bookkeeping and general accounting of herd/farm-related activities
• Capable of, and experienced in, performing all tasks assigned
• 3+ years of experience working with equine (draft horses a plus)
• General working knowledge of equine care, maintenance and training
• Willingness and ability to keep learning and work well with and for others
• Ability to provide amazing guest service
• Ability to harness, handle and drive a draft horse team
• Ability to drive and operate truck and gooseneck trailer in safe and responsible manner
• Supervisory skills and experience a plus
• Farrier experience a plus
• Able to frequently stand, walk and lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to react with agility and swiftness to handle and maximize control of equine
• Bookkeeping and accounting experience a plus
• Must be familiar with speaking/understanding English language
• Other responsibilities as needed
