About The Facility
Soulshine Sporthorses is a private barn situated on two adjacent properties covering 42 acres. We feature a covered arena, 10 stall barn, small additional barn, acres of pasture/turn-out, and miles of trails on the CETA trail system. We are minutes from TIEC and FENCE and within a few hours of several other major eventing and dressage venues in NC, SC, and TN. Owner of the farm is a practicing veterinarian, equine genetics researcher, USDF Bronze medalist, and eventer. Come work, ride, and show in horse country!
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated employee (or employees) who will manage the facility and ideally assist with riding high-quality dressage and event horses. A 5-6 day work week will be expected from the successful candidate, involving feeding, turn out, stall cleaning, pasture maintenance, cleaning tack, bathing and grooming horses, and other related duties. Farmsitting the entire property, including looking after dogs, cats, goats, chickens, etc., when the owners travel (in the post-COVID-19 world) will also be required.
Job Requirements
Horse and farm management experience is required. Confidence and firm but gentle manner around large horses is essential. You should have expertise with all aspects of horse ownership including picking feet, observation of overall heath and well-being, wrapping legs, and so forth. The ability to lift and carry feed and hay as well as comfort operating a tractor/mower will be essential. Riding ability through Training level dressage and eventing is desirable.
Benefits
Boarding for one horse could be arranged.
Description of Housing Provided
A separate 3-bedroom house is available on the property and could be included as part of a compensation package.
