About The Facility
The Main Idea at Camp Walden is a two-week residential program that provides economically disadvantaged girls with a summer camp experience to build self-confidence and promote leadership skills, all within the natural splendor of the Maine woods. We are looking for patient and knowledgeable riding instructors for the riding program this summer.
We teach English riding on 8-9 horses who have been working at the same location with other campers all summer. We have 2 outdoor rings and wooded trails, and our barn is small, but full of charm. Our horses are lucky enough to have plenty of time to just be horses when they get turned out in our field every afternoon, and we do our best to make the experience as good for them as it is for the children who come to learn from them.
