About The Facility
An established well-known breeding, training and showing facility on 45 acres in West-Central, Florida hosting an average of 80 horses.
Job Description
Assisting Owners in managing mare barn and medications, which includes recognition of health issues and proper feeding. Supervision of interns. Participation in daily chores. Daily management will include dressing and wrapping wound care, vaccinations, colic etc.

Handling of young horses from birth-during and up to 6 months of age, assisting with all aspects of breeding, handling mares and foals, assisting with insemination, stallion collection, ultrasounding and embryo transfers. Post weaning-foals need basic baby training the right person must be able to handle these foals teaching and training them the basic skills, bathing, tying, ground manners etc. This normally begins in May and continues thru Sept-October each year. Will help other staff members with feeding and barn/stall cleaning on an as needed basis. More so during off season. This position does not require foal watch.

Schedule is 6 days per week 7:00am-5:00pm with an hour for lunch.
Job Requirements
Experience giving oral, IV and IM injections. 75% of this position is handling horses 25% herd maintenance and record keeping.
Good people skills are required with a good work ethic and ability to train others and supervise as well as working with them.
Working interview is required- stay will be paid by employer.
Dependable schedule during non-breeding/foaling season
Small health care stipend reimbursed to employee monthly for employee carried health insurance after, available after 90 days
5 days paid vacation after 1 year (to be used outside of breeding season)
Pets welcome on an individual basis and must be approved by owners

Total compensation package value averages 35-38k per year which include salary and full housing included
