Job Description
Hiring for full time position for hands-on farm manager. This includes a regular M-F work schedule and overtime, which entails two part-time weekend days each month. This position is for a year-round employee (not just seasonal). Location is Nashville, TN.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate has a depth of experience in a professional horse care-taking operation as well as general farm/ranch management, especially prior experience in landscape maintenance involving the operation of heavy farm equipment. Other skills in facility maintenance, mechanic, and organic gardening would be valuable. The candidate would have interest in assisting with our farm’s non-profit service programs, including helping with an organic garden for the local food bank.

Character is the most important. Must be hardworking, trustworthy, positive, low drama and operate in a way that prioritizes safety. Looking for an open-minded individual who is comfortable working in a diverse culture that values organic farming methods, holistic horse care and modern, relationship/trust-based horse training theory over fear-based dominance. Must be willing to do a variety of jobs and work with others. Must show up when scheduled. Must have valid license and transportation to location. A full background check will be administered. No alcohol or smoking while on the job. May request references from prior employment excluding family members. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

Job Responsibilities:
Operate large tractors (165 HP) and implements including 15 ft batwing bush hog
Manage equipment service schedule
Hire and manage day labor from time to time
Feeding and caretaking of approximately 6-8 horses
Assist with landscaping and general facility maintenance
Willing to work more hours as needed during planting or hay production season
Willing to do manual labor when needed, able to lift 50 pounds
Housing can be provided
