About The Facility
300 plus acre private farm located outside the heart of Nashville. Farm works with local non-profit that teaches inner city youth about best farming practices, livestock management and introduces those that are less fortunate to horses. The farm also hosts 6-8 clinics and other riding events per year. Clinicians predominantly use natural horsemanship type training techniques with focus in classical dressage, flat work and low jumping. 1 acre of the farm is dedicated to organic farming of fruits and vegetables. There is also natural running water through the property.
Currently starting construction on an 8 stall barn and indoor arena equip with state of the art footing and quality lighting, perfect for winter or evening rides.
Job Description
M-F work schedule, average 35-40 hours during slow season, 40-45 hours (possibly more depending on additional events) during busy season, required to work two part-time weekend days each month. Candidate will be required to operate farm machinery, provide basic care and husbandry for 6-8 horses and observe organic farming practices. Ideal character is an open-minded individual comfortable working with diverse cultures, values organic farming, holistic equine care and trust based horse training methods.
Job Requirements
Experience in large farm and facility maintenance, basic tractor and farming machinery mechanics, organic gardening and cattle herd management is valued. Assisting with and having interest in the farm’s non-profit service programs is required.

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. daily, operate large tractors (165 HP) and implements including 15 ft batwing bush hog, manage farm equipment service schedules, manage yearly and quarterly farm budgets with rational decision making, hire and manage day labor for various events and clinics, feeding and care taking responsibilities for 6-8 horses to include scheduling and assisting vet, chiropractor, farrier, etc., assist with landscaping and general facility maintenance, willing to work more hours as needed during planting or hay production season and able to do various additional manual labor when needed.

Working interview will be required. Current drivers license required. Negative drug screen and ability to pass background check with no sexual or violent crimes or felonies of any kind required. Non-smoker strongly preferred (no alcohol consumption or smoking on the job at any time). References necessary, excluding relatives of candidate. 2-3 years previous verifiable farm management experience required.
Salary is based on experience, housing is additional to salary. Health insurance for employee/50% paid by employer, insurance offered for employee's family at employee expense, paid vacation incurred after 90 days and available after 6 months, paid sick days at owner digression.

Relocation may be paid by employer on a case by case basis.
Description of Housing Provided
New 4br/2ba home schedule for construction on farm this year for farm manager. Until construction is complete, local housing and all utility expenses will be provided by employer. 1-2 pets in the home possible- information regarding animals must be disclosed to owners and will be decided on a case by case basis depending on breed, behavior, training and up to date medical care.
