About The Facility
Job Description
Summer Apprenticeship opportunity available at mid-size, family friendly, Equine facility. The barn is home to broodmares, foals, young horses age 3 and under, stud colts and retired senior horses. Applicant must have previous experience working with horses in a hands on environment. Excellent horse sense and confidence to work around young horses is required. Will work alongside of existing Barn Managers to learn hands on (front of house) and administrative (back of house) demands required to run a full circle equine breeding and retirement facility. Applicant must be willing to work up to 48 hours during busy weeks and during foaling season. Standard, regular hours will be approximately 30 hours, 6 days a week required. Competitive hourly pay. This is an excellent learning opportunity for a positive, timely, respectful and hard-working individual seeking to further develop their skills under the tutelage of experienced caretakers and handlers in a professional environment.
Job Requirements
Turn In, Turn Out, Feeding/Hay/Water Shifts, Medications Administration, General Caretaking, Grooming, Cleaning, Stalls, Inventory, Supplies, involvement in routine farm maintenance projects. Provide support to existing Management Team. Candidate must be hardworking, timely and a team player. Must have previous experience with horses.
