About The Facility
Flat Rock River YMCA Camp located in St. Paul, IN is a residential camp serving campers age 7-17. Along the Flat Rock River, this 240 acre facility provides horse back riding lessons, trail rides, and animal care education for campers from around the world.
Job Description
The Equestrian Director is primarily responsible for the supervision of the designated equestrian area. This position assists in the supervision of employees and/or volunteers, including assisting in hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating of employees and/or volunteers. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving the quality and involvement and retention of participants, implementing and supervise daily program activities for designated Resident Camp Programs at Ruth Lilly YMCA Outdoor Center (Flat Rock). Responsibilities include overall camp supervision and leadership, interacting with children, parents, leading & supervising activities and following all safety guidelines for YMCA.

Job Requirements
At least 21years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience (administration and working with children, preferably in a summer camp setting).

Knowledge in the areas of YMCA programs and volunteers. Administrative skills including computer skills, personnel management skills, organizational skills, scheduling and record keeping skills

Exemplary communication, human relation and motivational skills . Emotional maturity, flexibility, problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. Obtain and maintain current certifications in CPR Heartsaver and First Aid. Obtain and maintain required training, including Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation and other department and/or Center designated training within 60-90 days of employment.

Housing is shared with other Lead Staff/Director-level position. This position occasionally will live in with campers should another staff member need coverage for an evening or day every once and awhile.
