Camp Rim Rock is an all-girls sleep away camp situated on 500 acres nestled in the mountains, located less than 2 hours from Washington D.C. Facilities include, three barns, 6 arenas, round pen, horse playground and miles of well groomed trails. We are home to a herd of 70 well-schooled horses, carefully selected for their suitability for riders of all levels.
We are seeking horseback riding counselors to provide English riding instruction in ring lessons, trail riding, river rides, and stable management up to 6 lessons per day. Work in a team to provide general care to the horses, tack, barns, and stalls. Assist other counselors in caring for children in the unit in which you live. Camp Rim Rock is looking for individuals with experience in English riding. All staff must be female, at least 18 years of age, and have completed at least one year of college. Applicants must be individuals with high moral character and a strong work ethic. Working in camp and counseling children is hard work!
We expect our staff members to be excellent role models for our campers. Previous experience working with children is preferred. The capacity to provide warm, mature guidance is most important.
Camp Rim Rock is a non-smoking camp.
Staff members will learn how to instruct English riding lessons and will gain hands on experience in taking care of a herd of over 70 horses. Working as a Riding Counselor could be used as a paid internship for college requirements.
Counselors will stay in cabins with campers. All housing, utilities and meals are provided, along with laundry service.
