About The Facility
P3 is the official concessionaire for Lake Louisa State Park, and among other services, we operate guided horseback trail rides inside the park. We have a herd of 13 horses that live onsite, and our rides are offered 365 days a year. The park has roughly 14 miles of equestrian trails that we utilize for the guided rides.
Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: To provide safe, entertaining, and informative guided trail rides, while ensuring the safety of all human and animal participants. Work under the supervision of the Lead Wrangler to provide exceptional service to visitors, and care to the herd of horses.

DUTIES:
• Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude at all times, even in stressful or unpleasant situations.
• Provide pre-ride instructions to visitors, with a serious focus on safety.
• Assist visitors on and off horses, and adjust tack as necessary.
• Guiding from front/rear/side and provide instruction to participants, while always maintaining complete control of your own horse.
• Pony another horse on a trail.
• Provide first aid and CPR as needed, while upholding the strictest BBP procedures.
• Maintain a heightened awareness for safety, while communicating consistently with partner guide.
• Interpret the surrounding environment according to approved script, while presenting a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
• Handle, groom and care for assigned horses, including tacking, bathing, feeding and watering, cleaning stalls, cleaning water buckets, and moving horses to and from corrals to the barn.
• Maintain professional service and approach visitors with courtesy and respect.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Must have a BMI score of 26.5 or lower.
* Must be able to mount and dismount without the aid of a mounting block.
* At least 10 years of riding, horse handling, and horsemanship experience
* Strong foundation in horse handling and riding safety.
* Firm knowledge of horses, and horse behavior
* Experience handling horses without complete training.
* Knowledge of and ability to ride with seat and legs in addition to hand.
* Strong teamwork ethic
* At least 2 years previous work experience in an outdoor or manual labor job.
* At least 2 years experience in customer service.
* Ability to lift 50lbs regularly and repeatedly.
* Reliable communication via phone and internet
* Reliable, dedicated transportation.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Ability to work holidays and weekends and/or a non-traditional schedule.
* Ability to follow instructions, and learn and adapt to the rules, policies, routines, and workflow of a new equine facility.
* Previous guiding experience is a plus, but not required.
* Possess a logical, agreeable nature.
