About The Facility
State of the art equine medical facility boasts 30 acres of tranquil farmland in the heart of Ocala's horse country. Patients vary from beloved back yard ponies to million dollar athletes and cover all breeds, sizes and abilities. There are two barns, multiple medical modalities available, and state of the art medical diagnostics and treatment, as well as conditioning for athlete's or those coming back form injury or rest are available for equine patients on site.
Job Description
Equine veterinary clinic is looking for a Veterinary Technician to assist in the care of our equine patients and their owners. A successful candidate will be responsible for setting up appointments with proper equipment, assisting the Veterinarian during appointments and surgical procedures and cleaning and storing the surgical instruments when the procedure is over.

The candidate will spend majority of their time in the truck with the veterinarian going to farm calls, as well as working in the hospital/clinical setting. Average work schedule will vary but will always be minimum 40 hours per week. Must be available from 7am to 6pm 5-6 days per week.
Job Requirements
Computer skills required in order to assist the veterinarian create consultations and treatment plans. Must have experience with handling horses, bandaging, and ideally drawing blood, inserting IV catheter and giving IV/IM Injections. Take radiographs based on the instructions and under guidance of the attending Veterinarian. Collect, properly label and preserve laboratory samples that must be shipped offsite for more comprehensive testing. Knowledge of normal/appropriate TPR for different size and age of equine patients. Ability to trot/lunge horse for examinations. Basic knowledge of equine breeds and disciplines. Basic knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medication types and supplements.

1-year minimum equine veterinary technician experience required

Ability to work overtime during seasonal peaks
