About The Facility
Job Description
The Manager of Jumper Programs is a member of the Sports Department
responsible for the development and implementation of USHJA jumper
programs, and supports the on-going growth of the Jumper Pathway. This
position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of various
committees, and the development and growth of Jumper Competition Programs
and Services within the Association. The Manager will work closely with
management and staff across the Association. In addition, this position will work with representatives from the United States Equestrian Federation in connection with Jumper Pathway, and USEF championship events such as North American Young Riders Championships and Pony Jumpers.

Duties and Responsibilities Strategy and Leadership:
• Provide leadership support in the development, administration and implementation of jumper programs and services
• In coordination with Committees analyze jumper program and services,
and collaborate with leadership and staff to develop and execute
strategies to address issues
• Provide program feedback and input to the Director of Sports
• Serve as staff support for and between the USHJA volunteer leadership,
various committees, USHJA departments and USEF in the development
of programs and services
• Manage administrative workflow and budgets related to planning,
development and implementation of programs and services
• Other sport program duties as assigned by the Director of Sport.
Team Development/Management:
• Coordinate and manage jumper sport programs and services with others
• Promote and demonstrate a culture of excellence, teamwork and service
for the departments, association and committee members
• Function as a mentor for others
Job Requirements
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to

• College degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience or
an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise
• Experience must include planning and management
• Knowledge of the equine industry, specifically the jumper discipline,
through participation as a competitor and/or involvement in competition
• Demonstrated skill in proactively engaging and developing relationships
with diverse groups of individuals
• Extensive experience and success managing projects and programs to a
successful completion
• Experience managing and developing a team of individuals and/or working
with a cross department team
• Creative in approach to services and programs, and comfortable using
new technologies and tools to engage audiences
• Experienced in managing competing priorities
• Possesses excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills,
including negotiation and conflict resolution
• Possesses strong written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills; ability
and comfort engaging with a diverse audience of individuals
• Is a strategic and analytical thinker
• Is passionate about the USHJA mission
• Is a positive, collaborative and proactive manager who can motivate and
collaborate with a team toward a common goal
• Possesses strong computer and office machine skills. Must be familiar
with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and
able to utilize the Internet. Understands basic PC concepts (files, file
paths, copying and pasting, deleting and moving files).
