About The Facility
Southern Breeze is a full service equestrian center offering boarding, training, h/j and dressage instruction, therapeutic riding, showing and horse sales. We have a full teaching program to develop horsemen from beginners to expert levels geared towards the show ring and offer a variety of services. The atmosphere is friendly and family oriented while the horse care and instruction is very professional.
Job Description
You will find yourself in a positive environment with a team atmosphere.
* With this position, you can expect to teach beginner - intermediate private and group lessons on a daily basis. You will also be trained to teach riders with a variety of disabilities.
* There are generally a few horses in training to be schooled from the ground and in the saddle so you can expect to ride green horses under the supervision of the head trainer.
* The job includes grooming, administering first aid, special care and assisting with deworming and other health care needs.
* Light office work is a part of every day with answering phones, scheduling riders, filing and other necessary tasks.
* Everyone helps with keeping the common areas and offices neat, clean and swept.
* You will also assist with special events such as seasonal camps, shows and "Fun Day" classes.
Job Requirements
* Applicants must have significant horse experience with a solid working knowledge of hunt seat equitation and jumping. Excellent riding skills and some show experience is required.
* Some teaching experience is required.
* You will need an organized approach to daily chores with good office and phone skills.
* A cheerful attitude along with a true love and understanding of people and horses is a necessity.
* A good, reliable work ethic and self starting personality are a must.
